A Guide to Choosing and Using a Whetstone or Sharpening Stone

Description

There are three steps to sharpening: grinding, polishing, and finishing. 240-400 grit removes nicks and other imperfections from the blade, 400-2000 grit smooths out the imperfections of grinding, and returns the blade to a fine edge, and 2000-8000 grit is for polishing.
