It is well contructed and allows you to get repeatable results when shapening. the only drawback I find is in the clamp design. if you have a knife with a thick spine, you may have trouble getting into the clamp. Otherwise for all other knives with a slim spine, it works well and give you a mirror finish on the edge after a strop.
