Very light knife with a low profile so you really don’t notice it in your pocket. I must admit initially I was a little disappointed as I think I was expecting slightly larger dimensions and a more ‘solid’ hand feel. However, the more I carry it the more I realise it’s a true EDC; I literally have it with me at all times and have not once felt it was inconvenient in my pocket or couldn’t get the job done. Still early days but seems to be a resilient blade and durable-sturdy handle, (despite my initial misgivings). Maybe the price is misleading (made me think I was getting a bigger knife) so make sure you d/check the dimensions before you commit. Quick delivery despite ‘back order’ status.

What a knife, I’m normally such a big, heavy knife person but the bugout brought about some kind of religious epiphany. Having something so light in your pocket that is so damn capable is just amazing. Love it. And the service from elite outdoor gear was great

Great service, received my product quickly and very happy with the quality and payment options.
The bugout is a great knife and very sharp.

I’m very happy with my Bugout, it’s light and convenient to carry. It was a bit tight to operate to start but has broken in nicely. The pocket clip is short but effective and it carries deep in the pocket which I like. It came reasonably sharp out of the box, the blade was slightly off center but I can live with that. The Bugout will be a great summer knife, carrying in lite shorts is not a problem due to the lite weight. I recommend this knife for every day use it is a good quality knife, and I will be carrying it through the summer.

This was an interesting purchase because i had to purchase the Bugout in order for Harrison to swap it out with the Gerber Fastball – which didn’t make it on the site yet (that is how keen i was to get it). The service commitment to notify me as soon as the Fastball arrived in the country, to the follow up and personal care Harrison invested into my business trumps any transaction in the past. You are the real MVP Harrison!

Now onto the Gerber Fastball! Wooweeee is all i can say….I have waited months for it and boy was it worth the wait. Ironically was in two minds whether to purchase the Bugout or Fastball. The Bugout with the proprietary axis lock or Gerber (in all its glory) with a “stab” at the market to get a share of the high end EDC community.

From the overall balance, to the ergonomics and the sage green aluminium scales. But more importantly the finish, bevel and razor sharp edge of the stonewashed CPM-S30V blade has blown my mind. Sorry sorry….i lie….the detent on the flipper still has me putting the action through its paces because i am still in awe of how “snappy” and rigid it feels. The knife has not only been my most important and valued EDC item but it is now my stress ball….literally. Rough day at the office? Hit that flipper. Someone gives me a hard time? Hit that flipper. In deep thinking mode? Hit that flipper. Trying to find an address? Don’t turn the music down! HIT THAT FLIPPER!!

I looked at so many different knives for edc but wasn’t sure what to buy… Then I came across benchmade. Then I seen the price and asked myself why is it so much for a plastic handle knife? Not willing to take the $200 hit for the bugout 535 I thought I’d afterpay it then decide if it’s worth it. YES very worth it. So light you don’t realise it’s on you sometimes and cuts so well. I have another knife I use to use but haven’t seen since I purchased this beautiful knife… I will be buying more!

I’ve used the bugout everyday now and the blade retention of the s30v steel still amazes me. Cutting cardboard, rubber, zip ties and even carving a small amount of aluminium among other things. Still so sharp, light and a joy to operate. Quality knife.

This is my first Benchmade EDC Knife. Before arrival I was impatiently waiting for this little thing to show up and when it did I was overjoyed. I have used it everyday since carrying out day to day different working activities and has been perfect. I’m very happy with this purchase and can’t recommend enough

Really happy with this edc knife. It’s lighter then the keys I use daily. So it’s not noticeable at all. Fit and finish was great, blade was very sharp. Looks like Benchmade quality is going good 2019. Purchase was easy, postage was fast and got updates. If I lost this knife definitely buy again. Hopefully elite outdoor drops there prices more if that happens. One can only hope. Lol.

Have you ever looked at a piece of jewellery and thought “If only I could cut things with it”? Well, you need never have that thought again. The Bugout 535 is a thing of beauty and it cuts! Once it goes in your pocket you forget about it, but when you pull it out you may just get accused of robbing Aladdin’s cave. Perfect for everyday tasks or taking on a hike.
