Pelican is an American multinational company that specialises in designing and manufacturing flashlights and cases. Their products are used in many industries such as military, law enforcement, fire safety and entertainment.
Pelican flashlights use Xenon, Halogen and LED lamps. Many are safety approved by ETL, UL, FM, CE-EX, CSA, MSHA and AUS with features such as valves, battery polarity guards and anti-shock systems. Pelican Lights are also popular with divers for their waterproof feature. They are also highly regarded for being durable and rated for hazardous environments.
Pelican’s cases are moulded plastic containers. They seal with an airtight and watertight gasket, and include a barometric relief valve made of Gore-Tex. This prevents any pressure damage to the case, which can occur during transportation or when the air pressure of an environment changes. Their cases also meet standards for stacking, impact and durability as well as waterproofing.
Pelican cases have a lifetime guarantee, however, in Europe, Pelican’s cases are sold as ‘Peli’ cases due to the name ‘Pelican’ being trademarked by another company.
Pelican also manufactures customised, rotationally moulded cases that are built for specialised, sensitive equipment protects. Potential modifications for the cases include internal shock-mount systems, humidity indicators, fabricated metal framing for electronics, manual pressure relief valves and custom foam.
